Violet Linings Collection

April 21, 2022 ·

Springtime has been sparkling all over my bench for nearly a month now. And what a joy it has been after a long winter.

The designs in the Violet Linings Collection are all named for some of the most resilient wildflowers I know.

Gorgeous mug by Ghost Party Pottery

Most echo their namesakes in abstract ways: through the hues of the amethysts, in the movement of the elements, in the way the leaves settle, the shapes of a ring band, etc.

Their reflections in these pieces are subtle. Other designs are a nod to those flowers in name only. And I am pleased as punch to share them with you now!

Vetch Rings

There will be (19) rings available.
Fits true to size.
(US Ring Sizes 5.5, 6, 6, 6.5, 6.75, 6.75, 7, 7, 7.25,
7.5, 7.5, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 8.5, 8.5, 8.5, 9.75, 10)

Price: $110 per ring

Named for that intrepid wildflower with stems twining around other meadow flowers and tendrils unfurling atop rocks.

Delicate and simple, while being durable and a little unruly. Just like this ring design with its rough textured bezel and deep purple stone.

As understated as a vetch flower, these rings each feature a unique, smooth amethyst gemstone.

Some are the lightest, most delicate shade of purple, while others are dark and murky. Some even have tiny little rainbows in them! They are all so different, each intended for a unique person.

They are set simply in a heavily textured smooth bezel. Textured to look like granite, the stuff of mountains and rugged coastlines. They are set atop a half-round band for comfort, and oxidized then polished to accentuate the stones and the lowlights.

Lilac Necklaces

There will be (27) necklaces available.
Sorted into size categories from small (1-1/4” – 1-3/8”),

medium (1-3/8” – 1-1/2”), and large (1-1/2 – 1-7/7”).
In various shades ranging from peachy pink to deep, dark purple.

Price: $175 – $195 per necklace

Frothy and joyous, overflowing and full, just like a handful of lilacs.

As with the other designs in this collection, this one is named after a resilient wildflower, my very favorite flower of all. Whenever I see sparkling amethyst druzy with its frothy crystals and varying hues of purple, I always think of my favorite blooms.

These bold necklaces are comprised of freeform amethyst druzy clusters set set inside a scalloped bezels, representative of the tiny curved petals of amethyst flowers.

They are substantial pendants, slices of the earth to wear about the neck.

Around each stone is a bit of sterling twine or a ring of stones. The backs of the pendants have been organically textured to resemble rough rock, as these trees love to grow in even the stoniest New England soil.

Each has been oxidized and hand polished for an organic look, and to bring out the lowlights of the texture and accent the sparkle of the amethyst.

Morning Glory Necklaces

There will be (38) necklaces available.
Leaf is suspended on about 1″ of chain below the gemstone
The length is adjustable between 14-17″ because it is meant to be worn high.

Price: $138 per necklace

Over the past two years, I have had a number of requests for another iteration of the Alder Necklace that featured prehnite from the Mossflower Collection. They were plucked so quickly during the release!

The time has come, a reincarnation of that lariat design, the Morning Glory Necklace! An ode to those joyous flowers eternally dripping leaves and vines and nodding flowers.

A necklace to harken long summer days spend in the shade of a morning glory arbor. Those unruly flowers who cannot help but reach their hands down to cup the breeze.

A single teardrop-shaped amethyst rests above a dangling, two-sided textured leaf. It tilts with your movements, ever dropping from a bower.

Made to slide along a chain for easy adjustment. It is set upon a shorter chain, as this lariat necklace is meant to be worn just below the throat. High to catch the sunlight.

The pendant, leaf, and chain have been oxidized and polished to give the necklace an organic and weathered feel.

Hesperis Necklaces

There will be (38) necklaces available in the release.
Stone measures 18mm across.
Suspended from a polished sterling silver chain, adjustable between 16 – 20″

Price: $109 per necklace

Named for that sweet flower often seen swaying in the sunshine. Also called Dames Rocket and Damask Violet. Hesperis looks a lot like phlox, except Hesperis flowers have four petals rather than five, making them look somewhat squarish. They grow in clusters at the top of tall stalks.

It is another wildflower that is incredibly resilient (as all the floral namesakes in this collection are). The genus name was given for the Greek word for “evening,” because the sweet scent of these flowers is more prevalent toward evening.

Simple and sweet, equally beautiful tucked in the shadows or glowing in the sunshine, just like this necklace, I think!

To honor that resilient flower, this design. Deep purple faceted amethysts set in undulating bezels.

A window has been sawn in the back of each pendant allowing the gemstone to pull in the light.

The pendants and chains are given a high polish to reflect and shimmer.

Heliotrope Rings

There will be (34) rings available in the release.
(US Sizes 5.25, 5.5, 5.75, 6, 6, 6, 6.25, 6.5,
6.75, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7.25, 7.25, 7.5, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8.5,
8.5, 8.75, 9, 9, 9, 9.5, 9.5, 9.75, 10, 10.5, 10.75, 11)
Fits true to size.
Half-round band for comfort
.
Price: $135 per ring

Named for that deeply saturated purple wildflower that positively drinks sunlight.

The name is from the Greek word for sun (“helios”) and “to turn” (“trepein”), because they are one of countless plants to tilt and tip toward the sun. Beautiful and fragrant, smelling of vanilla and cherries, it is often found by scent before sight.

A flower worthy of a ring.

In this representation, I chose some of the deepest purple amethysts I had, faceted to catch and hold the light.

They are set in a serrated bezel, sharp like the triangular petals of a heliotrope. Surrounding the stone is a handmade twist, like a bit of sterling twine holding a bouquet.

And at the base of the ring, a small sterling pebble and two roughly textured leaves of different sizes.

Harebell Rings

There will be (20) of these rings available.
Fits 1/2 – full size small.
Look for a ring that is at least 1/2 a size larger than your regular ring size.
(US Ring Sizes 6.5, 6.5, 7, 7, 7, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5,
7.5, 7.5, 9, 9, 9.25, 9.25, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.5)
Price: $165 per ring

A companion to last year’s earrings.

Named for that endlessly resilient flower often found clinging to granite cliff-faces above the alpine-line.

Delicate flowers nodding their bell-shaped flowers, collecting dew on their flared petals.

A delicate beauty that keeps itself alive despite being battered by wind and rain.

Amethyst growing amidst rough silver granite feels like a hopeful thing to me.

For this ring, oval amethysts are set atop beautifully flared sterling silver ring bands, seemingly spilling around the finger.

The band is double-layered for heartiness and has been given a rough, stony texture with a few sterling pebbles off-setting the stone on either side.

A sturdy ring for blooming where you’re planted.

It has been oxidized and hand polished for an organic look, and to bring out the lowlights of the texture on the band.

NOTE: Since it is a tapered band, it will fit snugly, it fits HALF – A FULL SIZE SMALL. Therefore it is recommended to purchase at least a half size larger than your regular size.

Yarrow Cuff Bracelets

There will be (16) bracelets available.
Sizes: There will be (11) S/M bracelets, and (5) M/L bracelets available.
S/M = 6″ around with a 1″ gap
M/L = 7″ around with a 1″ gap

Price: $160 per bracelet

This bracelet is named for a favorite wildflower of mine, and I chose amethysts that resemble my favorite hue of this flower, very light purply-pink.

It grows wild throughout much of the United States. The Romans called it “herba militaris” as it was used on wounds for it’s blood-stanching properties, as such, the genus of the flower was named after the Greek hero Achilles. And it is a great attractant for ladybugs and hoverflies.

Those hearty, frothy flowers that can be found nearly everywhere, from amongst the rubble of a stone wall to along a sun-dipped ocean cove.

The only bracelet design in the Violet Linings, Pt. II collection. A sweet, simple piece featuring a soft purple amethyst, some with hints of pink or peach, with two sterling pebbles on either side, and a textured path running down the band.

Some amethysts are smooth and syrupy, and others are faceted and positively drink the light.

This adjustable cuff bracelet is hand-forged from sterling silver.

The bracelet has been oxidized and hand polished for a textured, organic look, and to bring out the lowlights, and accent the lightness of a stone. The cuff band is made from half-round band for comfort.

Violet Rings

There will be (50) rings available in the release.
(US Sizes 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5.25, 5.5, 5.75, 5.75, 5.75, 6, 6, 6,
6.25, 6.25, 6.5, 6.5, 6.5, 6.5, 6.5, 6.5, 6.75, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7.25,
7.5, 7.5, 7.75, 7.75, 8.25, 8.25, 8.5, 8.5, 8.5, 8.5, 8.75, 9, 9,
9, 9.25, 9.5, 10, 10.25, 10.25, 10.5, 11, 11.25, 12)
Fits true to size.

Price: $95 per ring

Violets, those delicate and seemingly diminutive flowers, hold such a strength in their little tendrils and unfurling petals. And so, a simple ring for everyday strength.

I have plucked a handful of sturdy little violets for you! Little blooms in all different hues of purple to suit your heart’s content. Tiny bits of lightness and springtime to wear atop the hand.

As understated as a violet, these rings each feature a unique, faceted amethyst gemstone. Some are the lightest, most delicate shade of purple, while others are dark and murky. Some even have tiny little rainbows in them! They are all so different, each intended for a unique person.

They are set simply in a straight bezel with a shadowed rim to make the stone pop. It is set atop a heavily textured thick band, textured to look like granite, the stuff of mountains. And it is then oxidized then polished to accentuate the stones and the lowlights.

Also, thank you to everyone who let me know their ring sizes! They will of course still be first come first served to give everyone a fair crack, but your letting me know ring sizes makes it so much more likely that everyone will find their perfect little violet.

And that’s everything that will be included in this week’s Violet Linings offering!

I wasn’t able to finish four designs in time for this release, including the dangly earrings I shared on Instagram a few weeks ago. So those will bloom in the shop in about a week. Keep an eye on Instagram for an announcement!

It is so heartwarming to know there are so many soft, springtime souls out there. We are kindreds, indeed!

I am writing them down as I go, and once I respond to your comment, you will know I have jotted your size down!

And on either side of it will be silver cherry blossoms with brass centers, and two liquidy rose quartz gemstones, faceted to pull the light.

🌸 Sneak Peak & Springtime Goals 🌸

🌸 Going forward, I will try my darnedest to document the work and share progress updates with you more often.

🌸 Collections have a way of utterly consuming me. They are like tremendous, beautiful waves that sweep me off my feet and toss me back on the sand a few miles up the beach. And then I have to run back to where you are, hollering "I have made some beautiful things for you!"

🌸 I know periods of radio silence is not helpful for your consistently seeing my posts. (Apologies to the handful of people who reached out about totally missing the garnet collection. One thing I do, which has been helpful, is going to the "Following" option on the home page of Instagram every few days, and giving some love to the accounts that I don't want to miss posts from.)

🌸 So, here's a sneak peak at the next collection! Soft undulating bezels, springtime rose quartz, hammered branches, and each piece will be festooned with wild cherry blossoms.

A quick tip for if you are trying to catch somethi A quick tip for if you are trying to catch something quickly:

🌹 The “Shop All Available” tab on the home menu takes you to everything that isn’t sold out.

🌹 The “Shop by Collection” option will show you everything from the collection, including what has sold.

I thought I would leave the sold items on the collection pages for a little bit on each release night, so that if you are looking for a certain piece, you can actually see whether it has been sold on the collection page.

Whereas if you just want to see what’s currently available in order to catch a piece more quickly, you have that option too.

🌹 Also! If you change the sort option to Alphabetical, it will put all the designs of the same types together (for example, large necklaces or smaller earrings) as well as put the ring sizes in order.
