🌿 Important Announcement! 🌿

There is a chance that a few of my designs will be a smidge late. I find I am a very bad judge of how long smithing projects will take me AND I made more of each Part II design than I was originally anticipating. I wont be working with prehnite again for a few years, and I don’t know which designs will make a return next time (it is dependent on what my lapidarist is able to cut, and how many new designs I want to try).

As such, I wanted to make as many of these pieces as possible, since they might not return in a collection for a while.

So! On October 4th, there WILL absolutely be a whole grove of Fern Necklaces, Dryad Leaf Ear Jackets, Shade Garden Necklaces, and Tending Earrings (the dangly earrings with two leaves and a prehnite briolette).

What might come a little late are the Tending Necklaces, Beren Shield Necklaces, and a new ring design featuring big glowing teardrop-shaped prehnite gemstones.

In the case of late designs, I won’t have another scheduled shop update. I will just pop them into the shop as they are finished and give you a heads up here a day or so before they are available.

If there is a particular design you would like to purchase, you can always send me a quick note on Etsy that you’d like me to let you know when I plan to put that design in the shop and I can give you as much of a heads up as I am able.

Sorry for the confusion on this release! I would normally just put away anything I didn’t finish in time and save it for next time, but I want to do this stone justice since I won’t be seeing it for a little while.

🌱 Tending Necklace 🌱

And here is my Mossflower version of the design from the Honeybee Collection. A necklace reminiscent of an old-fashioned cloak clasp. When ladies and gents of yesteryear would wear cloaks, they would put a pin on both edges of the cloak below the neck, and the pins were connected by a chain. This would keep the cloak on the shoulders.

And this is another version of the necklace that echos that shape, the “Tending Necklace.” Each necklace features two clusters of unfurling leaves and neatly arranged pebbles reminiscent of cloak pins, and flowing faceted prehnites to comprise the “chain.”

In my mind, I designed this for dedicated beekeepers and early spring gardeners, trudging through muck and detritus to check on sleeping bees or sprouting bulbs with a cloak over the shoulders, because not even the rain could keep them from that which needs tending.

I am busily sawing, sanding, and sipping coffee over here! Pulling leaves out of silver and catching the last of all the summer green outside my window for you to carry through the winter months.

I did want to check with you sweet souls about when I should release this final part of the Mossflower Collection.

The last day of September is a Wednesday. If you are planning to claim a piece, I would love to know if mid-week evening collection releases work for you? Or would you prefer I release on Sunday, Oct. 4? Please let me know below and I will set a date in stone as soon as possible!

I am trying to make enough of these for everyone who wants to claim one. (Thank you to everyone who reached out and voted in the poll!)

Since I wont be making any Mossflower pieces for a few years after I release part II, I knew I had to make as many Fern Necklaces as possible.

The smooth prehnites I chose for these have the most beautiful colors, thorny rutiles, and feather inclusions. They are like laying on a fern-covered riverbank.

I cant wait to show you!

Phew! I have been working steadily packaging up or

Phew! I have been working steadily packaging up orders and I think I have about half in the mail.

I am wrapping these pieces in paper and raffia ribbon, and leaving a bit of mountain air and August in the envelopes before I seal them, all the while imagining those who have claimed them. Some are going to Australia, others to The Netherlands, some to Alaska, some to Australia, and some to even fellow Mainers!

What a gift to find myself here with you sweet souls in my corner.

Phew! All the shipping labels are printed, shipping overages refunded, and tomorrow I get to start packaging up all your pretties. I cant WAIT for you to see them in person. Like sunlight filtered through leaves and delicate ferns covering the forest floor, all captured in stone and silver.
