Autumn Giveaway (A Moonspinner Care-Package)

October 1, 2017 ·

It is time for the autumn giveaway! This is the third of my series of four, each being shaped by the seasons. The soft pinks, striking oranges, and deep shadows of autumn have moved through my hands to pull together this collection of items.

To reiterate what I said in the first giveaway, this series is an effort to connect with those who have been championing me with words of encouragement, recommendations to others, and generous orders. They are made up of a few of my favorite things. The things that adorn my aesthetic and artistic landscape. I cherish your support, so I want to give you some things I cherish. These are the sorts of care-packages I would send a long-time pen pal if I wanted them to know me better. There will be beloved books, gemstones to place about your home, edible bits, and of course, artisan jewels and baubles to adorn yourself. These are the things I would give someone if I wanted them to know me better.

This giveaway features:

* A selection of artisan jewels

Amber, oh amber! That most autumnal of all gemstones. I have made a Baltic amber necklace & earrings set with twist accents and a dark, polished finish. Deep orange and dark shadows, like an autumnal dusk. There is also one of my favorite designs, the Waiting Raven necklace. This necklace is made with a natural Picasso jasper that features a matrix that resembles the branches of a tree stretching across the night sky. It is set in a serrated bezel, and features a waiting crow sawn out of the back of the pendant. And finally, there is a necklace made from a phantom quartz crystal with a inky black center inclusion set between two ornate bezels. To me, this piece resembles a vial of bottled magic. These are pieces to wear while tromping through fallen leaves and flipping through Edward Gorey books.

* Eve of St. Agnes by John Keats

For you, a duplicate copy of another one of my favorite poetry collections. This pocket-sized book includes the narrative poem Eve of St. Agnes by John Keats. There are few poets that so effectively spin worlds out of words in my mind as Keats.

* A quaint, purple, mushroom bird

I have these plump fellows scattered around my home, and there is no better friend to tuck yourselves in with in preparation for winter. Except perhaps a sleepy cat.

* A botanical offering

A sprig of dried gypsophila

* A vintage L.E. Smith iridescent pink leaf bowl

There is perhaps nothing more prevalent in my home than vintage cut glass. When I was a little girl, my grandmother had her own small collection of blue Harvest Grape carnival glass, and I used to sit on my knees and peep into the cabinet where she kept it whenever she was occupied elsewhere. The smell of cedar will always remind me of her blue carnival glass. So here is a piece of carnival glass to have of your own! It is the shimmery, iridescent pink and orange of an autumn sunset. And the pattern is of fallen leaves dipping and curving into the shape of a bowl.

* A few crystals and minerals

An amethyst cluster and a standing fluorite point

* A handmade beeswax candle

Because is there anything more pleasing than the glow of a candle? And better yet, a handmade beeswax beauty in the shape of a pinecone to light during autumn gales.

To Enter:

Follow my Instagram account and repost the giveaway picture of the care-package contents that I featured on my Instagram page. Regram it to your own Instagram account, and tag @moon.spinner and #msautumn2017 in the description.

That’s it!

I like doing repost giveaways because it is such an honest way to participate in a giveaway. Those who enter are showing they are proud to support and share my work, and to those people I would give all the things! That is also why these giveaways have been such generous ones.

I will draw a winner on October 8, 2017.
