Forest Friendship Necklaces

There will be (32) pairs and (13) singles available
The sizes range from 1.25” – 2” from the top of the loop to the bottom of the pendants
Suspended from a slightly shorter oxidized sterling silver chain that is adjustable from 16-19”
Price: Singles – $110, Pairs – $180

Simple moss agate necklaces, understated enough to tuck under a sweater or toss on with a dress.

There is a rim around each stone which has been been textured to look like tree bark.

And the back has been given a rough, organic weathering to look like something you could have picked up on the forest floor.

These necklaces are special because they are each set with a stone cut from the same rough, like the two sides of the same coin.

Some of the stones look identical, just reversed; others are quite different from one another, depending on how the moss and dendrites layered in the stone.

Each pair is so unique; varying patterns of moss floating through the stones, different gemstone shapes, the texturing on the back carrying its own imprint taken from a bit of granite outside my cabin.

And this singularity feels so perfect for this design, as these will be shared between two singular people.

For those who claim single necklaces, their unique connection will be to a complete stranger in the necklaces themselves, two halves of the same gemstone.

For those who claim a pair, the connection between the two wearers will be shared experience from different perspectives. Life and love imprinting differently on each, but again, two halves of the same whole.

In either case, I hope part of the connection (between friends or strangers) is an everlasting love of the forest, and hearing the call to return to it.

On these necklaces I have inscribed two halves of a phrase. One side reads “Silva Vocat” (The Forest Calls) and the other says “Amici Respondent” (Friends Answer). Much like the stones, they complete one another.


Grove Cuff Bracelet

There will be 6 cuff bracelets available.
Sizes: Four S/M (5.75″) bracelets; Two M/L (6.75″) bracelets
Price: $180 per cuff

This cuff bracelet is made of sterling silver and features a smooth, large, oval moss agate gemstone with swirls of green stone moss flowing through.

Circling the stone is a tiny pebble border. Two stalwart coniferous trees stand on either side of the stone.

The small/medium bracelets measure about 5.75″ (+ a 1″ gap) and the medium/large bracelets measure about 6.75″ (+ a 1″ gap).

Set atop an easily adjustable split double half-round band for stability and comfort.


Original Tree of Light Necklace

Only (4) will be available.
They each measure roughly 1.75” from the top of the loop to the bottom.
Suspended from a oxidized sterling silver chain that is adjustable from 17-20″
Price: $120

I first made the Tree of Light Necklace in 2014, and I thought it would be a wonderful time to recreate it exactly!

It features a moss agate gemstone with swirls of green, brown, orange, and white inside. Like a slice of the forest.

Sawn out of the back of these pendants is a solitary chunky deciduous tree.

Bordering the stone is a hand-twisted rope border.


Thicket Earrings

There will be (21) pairs available.
They measure roughly 1.25″ from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the earring
Price: $115 per pair

Earrings of all sterling silver featuring domes of moss agate. Some are light with wisps of green swirling through, others are solidly packed with tufts of moss.

They truly look like clumps of preserved moss lilting below your ears.

I have sawn the backs from the earrings so the light can stream through and illuminate all the little tendrils and frills of stone moss.

I have photographed them against a solid background in soft light, as well as with sunlight flowing through.

The leafy serrated bezel, shadowy border, and the textured bark edge offset the stones, particularly when they are out in the sunshine.

I love these shorter, stouter earrings! Earrings for walking through shadowy forests.

Deep Roots Rings

There will be (9) rings available.
Ringtop measures a little over 2″ from the top to the bottom
Sizes: 6.5, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 8.75, 9, 9.5,
Price: $172 per ring

A stunning gemstone ring made of sterling silver and features a sparkling brown smokey quartz gemstone.

Multiple layers of textured sterling silver were used to make these tough as redwood rings.

A single coniferous tree grows from each glowing, earthy smokey quartz gemstone.

The backs have been lightly texture with a stone to give them an organic feel.

Set atop a split double half-round band for comfort and stability.

Oxidized to pull shadows into all the corners.


Forestbound Ring

There will be (17) rings available
Ring-tops measure about 1.25″ from the top to the bottom
Band measures 4mm wide
Sizes: 5.75, 5.75, 6.5, 6.75, 7, 7.5, 7.5, 7.75, 8, 8.5, 9, 9, 9.25, 9.5, 9.5, 9.75, 10.25
Price: $152 per ring

A stunning gemstone ring made of sterling silver and features a faceted moss agate gemstone with swirls of green, brown, orange, and white inside.

Delicate swirls of mossy stone within stone. Like a slice of the forest. And below each moss agate is a sparkling brown smokey quartz gemstone.

Surrounding the stones are textured hammered branches and tiny piles of sterling pebbles.

Inside the bands is the inscription “de silva” which is Latin for “of the forest.”

A ring for reminding one to return to the forest.

Shadows are tucked in all the crevices.


Tuft of Moss Ring

A simple gemstone ring made of sterling silver and features a moss agate gemstone with swirls of green, brown, orange, and white inside.

The ring band has been heavily textured to look like bark.

Shadows tucked in all the crevices.

A ring to serve as a gentle reminder to press your hands against every mossy tree you pass.

It has been oxidized and hand polished for an organic look, and to bring out the lowlights of the texture and accent gemstone.

I am also nearly finished with all the commissioned orders, yay! By this afternoon, about 3/4 of all the custom pieces are in the mail. 

All I have left are the Winter Berry Tea Rings (because the garnets took a bit longer to get cut than I was anticipating), and a few of the more intricate designs that involve more steps than the others. But I am hoping to have everything all buttoned up and flying through the mail by this weekend, if all goes well!

When working on a new collection, I often like to When working on a new collection, I often like to pair the work with books or media that embody the imagery, sentiments, and inspirations. 

(Which is how my Mossflower Collection morphed into a love letter to J.R.R. Tolkien's works.)

And so with these romantic Hessonite garnets, inverted heart bezels, and furtive rosebuds, I have begun dipping into Shakespeare's sonnets and "Cyrano de Bergerac." 

And now my mind begins to match my bench! All rose petal testaments and secret garden bowers.

Friends, what can I say, but my endless thanks! Ev Friends, what can I say, but my endless thanks! Every tanzanite ring was claimed last night, and I cannot WAIT for you to see them. I might be biased, but I believe they are even more beautiful in person. 

I was so nervous for the collection release, and it was such a relief to know that it wen't relatively well for everyone. 

The most important thing to me was that all the pieces showed up at the same time for everyone, and I believe they did. The rings landed in the shop for me at the same time (7:01) as some of you all the way in Antarctica! (Hi Rebecca!) 

It did seem that a lot of people trying to pay with Paypal got errors, but the odd part is that there were a few people that it worked for, which means it wasn't a totally universal problem. My plan today is to troubleshoot with Paypal and Shopify customer service. Thank you to those who sent me screenshots, those will be so helpful while I try to fix it. My hope is that once this gets ironed out, it wont be a problem again. 

Thank you for all your feedback, it is invaluable. There are a few things I would still like to add/tweak. I am determined to get a search bar so that you can quickly search for particular sizes or design names, which will be sooo useful for the larger collections.

This was something I had tried to add a few days ago, but I fudged up the coding and broke the shop entirely, resulting in my having to restart with a blank theme and a sulk-watch of "The Hobbit." 

Anyways, I am so excited for future releases, I have so much planned for you! But next, some gorgeous, glowy garnets accompanied by some dainty secret rosebuds.

The “Shop All Available” tab on the home menu takes you to everything that isn’t sold out. 

The “Shop by Collection” option will show you everything from the collection, including what has sold. 

I thought I would leave the sold items on the collection pages for a little bit on each release night, so that if you are looking for a certain piece, you can actually see whether it has been sold on the collection page. 

Whereas if you just want to see what’s currently available in order to catch a piece more quickly, you have that option too.

I have a gemstone cabinet, which is really a very I have a gemstone cabinet, which is really a very old printmakers cabinet that a friend of mine found for me at an antique shop. It has dozens of little shelves and rows that I lined with felt and put dividers in. That is where most of my larger stones and bigger collections live.

But sometimes, I pull stones from the cabinet with plans to make something for you, and then the bowl of selected stones gets a little lost in the shuffle of my overcrowded studio. 

And that is what happened to about ten fancy cut tanzanites. I think I pulled them several years ago for something and never used them. And then a few weeks ago as I was pulling stones and checking stock for a few commissions, I found a little glass salt dip with these stones in it. Just in time for this tanzanite offering! 

They must be meant for very particular people, because the timing was uncanny.
