What a joy this collection has been to create. Months of summery turquoise, warm carnelian, and sparkling hessonite garnet covering my bench, to the point where I could scarcely move. September blue skies, warm brass asters, and swallows in every corner.

This is the first turquoise collection in over eight years. I spent that time slowly collecting turquoise gemstones one stone at a time; hoarding my pile of robins egg blue like a dragon.

Until now, that is. I have sung the stones into metal, set amongst soaring birds and glimmering suns, blooming asters and warm brass accents.

” Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds,—and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air …. “
– J. Gillespie Magee

Earrings made of swallow flight and sun-drenched expanses, worn as a wish to step into the air as burden-less as a swallow.

These lightweight earrings are going to be listed as Made to Your Order offerings, in either jewelers’s red brass or sterling silver.

Tucked into the wings and tail feathers of the swallows are warm hessonite garnets, like berries plucked from the vine, and each sky blue turquoise.

Important Note!
Keep in mind that red brass is a warm, earthy metal, and though I wax all my jewelry to slow tarnishing, the brass will patina and darken over time, especially in humid locales. You can give it a brush with your usual jewelry polish if you’d like to bring it back to warm glowing gold. Some people also polish/brush their brass jewelry and then coat it with matte clear acrylic, such as clear nail polish, to seal their brass jewelry. If you do this, let me know how it goes!
And that’s everything! Everything will arrive in the shop at the same time tomorrow. Keep in mind that there are a very limited number of Made to Order spots available, as I have lots of collections upcoming this autumn,
